Hi, I’m Bernadette Fox.
Here’s the deal: I quit my 9-to-5 job more than ten years ago (woot woot!) and I’ve NEVER looked back. Taking the leap to work on my own vision and towards my own goals has been the most rewarding decision that I’ve ever made. But, I’ll be honest with you… running your own business will also be the HARDEST you’ll ever work in your life (read more below).
Now, if you’re a Creative (a maker, photographer, artist, designer), a small business owner, or freelancer—or if you have ever attempted to build something new—you know that it’s not enough to simply be good at your craft. You’ll quickly find that you are also working in the fields of customer service, design, copywriting, marketing, scheduling, advertising, and maybe even educating. Yes, we wear A LOT of hats.
My focus is to share all of my learnings from both my career in marketing AND my experience running a small business, in hopes that I can encourage momentum, making your path smoother and more profitable.

This is a place for no-bullshit strategies on personal performance and making tech work for your small business.
Who is Bernadette?
I initially started my career in the ad agency world (working with international brands such as IKEA, Toyota, Showtime, Target, etc.). I complied an amazing marketing skillset, BUT I was also working 60+ hours a week for someone else’s vision. I eventually realized that the traditional 9-to-5 job just wasn’t for me (hello, no creativity!), and that–more than anything–I wanted to work for myself. So, I returned to my very first love (photography) and worked my ass off to create a highly profitable business of making images for weddings, nonprofits, and corporate clients.
Was I successful because I was the most incredible photographer in the world? Nope (hey, this is part of that no-bullshit stuff I mentioned!). I was good at my craft and I was doing what I loved. But, MOST IMPORTANTLY, I had killer strategies for marketing myself within my niche, I utilized technology to my advantage and I took great care of my clients through solid processes.
Stuff you should know about me :)
Eating is my NUMBER ONE hobby. Like seriously (and I’m really good at it too! 🙅🏻). If I’m not eating, then I’m thinking about eating, exploring new recipes, visiting the farmer’s market, or watching food-porn tv shows (Chef’s Table anyone??).
I’m an avid SCUBA diver and have logged over 300 dives around the world. It still terrifies my mother every time.
I married a truly amazing human in a SURPRISE ceremony in Belize (none of the guests had any it was going to be a wedding!). And, we met online—yay for the Internet!
